2010 Desk Calendar

It is about time I get a post that has something new on it right?! I have been a busy girl lately!
I have been working on getting the photography end of my business up and going and at the same time I have been working on Christmas cards (COMING SOON!!! REALLY REALLY SOON!!! YAY!!!)
I have also been trying to come up with ideas for gifts for the holidays. One very obvious one is the calendar for the new year. I usually end up spending HOURS getting calendars put together and then even more money to print and bind them for me, parents, and grandparents....

Not this year!

This calendar is in 5x7 format. I simply printed them out and then found an unfinished wood frame. I painted it and then put vinyl polka dots on. I added a ribbon around it too (I thought about it AFTER I took the picture...of course! whoops! :) hehe!) The whole year worth of calendars fit right inside the frame. Even better!

Total cost for me to do this project was about $10.00. You can even find finished frames and forgo the painting and stuff too.

I have clients that are familiar with Photoshop and clients who aren't. I started out this project thinking I would do it one way only to stop a few months in and change my mind on how I would do it. So here are how things ended up:

PHOTOSHOP USERS:

-You will receive 12 months worth of 5x7's one for each month of 2010.
-They will be in .png and .jpeg but use the .png format so that you can quickly slide your pictures in behind it (like a quick page) and print off.

-You can also choose to embellish these calendars more than the standard file that you will get. (see framed calendar above!) If you do...please keep in mind to watch your edges!!! Bleed room: (where printers cut off) I recommend 1/4 inch all the way around your print. You do not have to embellish, the calendar pages were designed to look great whether you add more to it or not!

NON-PHOTOSHOP USERS:

-You will receive 12 months worth of 5x7's...one for each month of 2010

-They will be in .png and .jpeg formats. Use the folder marked .jpeg and upload to the print center of your choice.

-When you receive your prints, you will notice a white or black square in the middle of your frames. Using a punch or scissors, carefully cut out the square and then use your photos behind the calendar print.

-You can choose to embellish your calendars with papers, ribbons, flowers, rub-ons, etc. for a more personal touch but these calendars were designed to look great even if they are left "as-is"!
Once payment is received, your files will be emailed to you
(include your email when submitting payment so I know where to send the files! :)

I am still here...promise!

Alright. So life kicked me down on my proverbial bum this last month. I had so many things I thought I would have done by now, but there was never enough time!

I am here and workin' on a few things...not to mention Christmas cards. You might be saying Christmas? Already? What the junk?!

Yep, Christmas. I am also thinking of some SWEEEET ways to get the word out for the holiday season coming up so if you have any suggestions...I am all ears! Leave a comment or email me at rememberthisdesigns@gmail.com!

So Magical freebie kit

So this is my first ever "kit" and I use this term very very lightly. I realize why I stick more to making the cards and projects because holy cow...that is A LOT of work and I don't do it all the time. I have a completely new found respect for all those designers out there!

So when we went on our vacation earlier in the year, I wanted some papers I couldn't find out there to do my pages so I made some. Then I started thinking...maybe other people could use them. Then I was just going to package up the few papers I had and call it good. Then it was a couple of embellishments and then when I put the preview together it looked so sad and lonely. I went back and forth on whether to just do the papers or to do a few more embellishments and decided on a kit. Then we were moving and things got pushed back. Then I was unpacking and it got pushed back even further and so now I am just going to get it up and posted once and for all!

This will be left up as a freebie for a limited time only. I am not sure if I will sell down the road or just take it off entirely so grab it fast before it is gone!

Let me know what you think! :)

I'm still here!

I have been meaning to do so much here lately but then life hiccuped and jumbled things up for a bit. Life is now settling back down and I am getting back into the swing of things. I had intended on getting Fathers day cards up way before now. I am working on some. If you are looking to have one done, email me and I will put you at the top of the list! Remember pre-made as well as custom card designs are both only $5.00. One day I will change up prices to accomodate custom but for now, that is where it stands!

I am also looking getting a printer lined up as well so you can choose between having them done for you from start to finish or doing them yourself. I am just working out costs and will post more on that later!

Thank you again for all your support!

Baptism Invite #1

Here is the first baptism invite that I will be posting! I can't believe I will be doing these for my little girl in less than a year! ACCKKK!! Where does the time go!?!

Sorry for the lack of a picture in the example. My little guy isn't near close to 8 and he just looked weird on an invite that is for older kids! Now is a good time for that imagination!:)

I am also getting invites done for other occasions, and if there is one you like but it happens to say it is for something else, wording can be changed easy peasy! Just note it in the email and I will be sure to get it done!

WAHOOO!!! I love a freebie! My daughter was telling me a couple of days ago "Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where everything is free and Moms and Dads could play in the park with their kids EVERYDAY?!" Oh, that would be nice. Too bad it isn't a reality! :(

MS Hair Design

So you may have thought I fell off the face of the earth...who goes 4 weeks without posting stuff?! I have had so many ideas and so many fun things to do lately. They will be rolling out soon!
I have been doing some logo designing for my brother-in-law and my biggest achievement thus far has been my cute friend Melissa's salon! She was revamping her business cards, gift certificates and price lists and asked if I would make a logo and the supplies she needed. OF COURSE!!!!

It is kind of intimidating to design for someone who not only is my friend, but my hair girl, AND she scrapbooks too. No pressure right?

So here is the finished product...she picked my favorites...black and red!! I love those colors (can ya tell?!)

The new business card...

Gift certificates, cause who doesn't love to get their hair done?!

And a new price list that she can change and update as she needs to...

Thanks Mel for trusting me with your stuff! I HAD A BLAST!!! And if you live in the area and need a hair girl...Mel is awesome... my hair hearts her! Her # is 435.229.7321!

Check back again this week...there is going to be a FREEBIE (imagine I said that like Oprah announces guests on her show..."Please welcome JOOOHHHNN TRAVOOLLLTTAA!!") You know what I mean! I am just finishing up on mine, take some pics, and upload the files and it will be up! YAY for freebies! :)

-13 (4x6) jpeg files of all letters and

-3 (4x6) jpeg files of stars

-instructions to complete

Not Included:

- cardstock cut-outs to complete project (can be added to your order for an extra $10 and will be mailed to you!)

- Ribbons

DETAILS:

* This project was completed by using my Cricut and extra ribbon I had laying around!
